Robert J. Gibson is a staffing industry expert. Before his affiliation with Express, he had a long and distinguished career in the personnel business, entering when it was a fledging industry. Gibson joined the Norrell Corporation in 1967 as vice president and general manager of Norrell Temporary Services. During his nearly 20-year tenure, he rose to the position of president and chief operating officer.
Prior to his career in the staffing industry, Gibson gained human resources experience in management positions with several nationwide trucking companies, including McLean Trucking, Georgia Highway Express (now Transus) in Atlanta, Ga. and Adley Express in New Haven, Conn. Upon retiring from the staffing industry, Gibson founded a company that utilized his experience in developing software for the staffing industry. His company, Dataforce Systems, Inc. sold proprietary software to the temporary help industry. At its peak, Dataforce had about 750 clients, mostly independent agency owners.
He continues to contribute his staffing experience and knowledge as an Express Board Member.
Born in Canton, Ga., Gibson earned his Bachelor of Science from Wake Forest University and served in the U.S. Army. He is an active member in Wieuca Baptist Church and has held offices in a number of professional organizations, including past president of the Georgia Association of Temporary Services, past president of the National Association of Temporary Services and past president of Sales and Marketing Executives in Atlanta.
