Zone Winners

Shannon Delatore, Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator h
Central Zone Employee of the Year
Champaign, IL

Shannon Delatore has been an Express Employment Professionals associate working for a nonprofit organization for nearly three years. During that time, she has grown as a professional and as a person, seeing the impact she has on those in need. Her passion and desire to help others has made a strong impact on her colleagues, managers, and volunteers. Being the Volunteer Coordinator, people can't help but catch her enthusiasm for helping the local community through donations of time or money. She truly values what she does at work, and her results show.

Shannon has been doing such a great job recruiting volunteers and raising money, her supervisor wanted to reward Shannon with a gift card, but she actually politely declined the gift card and asked for it to be given to one of the families in need. Her positive attitude, energy, and sincere thoughtfulness are all attributes that have helped her succeed in her career and is greatly appreciated by Express.

Dianna Aslin, Office Assistant
West Zone Employee of the Year
Edmonton West, AB

Dianna Aslin had a strong background in administrative work before coming to Express Employment Professionals, and Express was eager to find her the right job. She didn't need much training other than the details of her particular assignment. In 2008, Dianna needed a part-time or contract job while finishing school, and learned about Express through a recommendation from her sister. She has been with the current client since 2009 and they couldn't be happier. Dianna represents the client company in a very professional manner, and has always made herself available, even as a part-time employee.

She is known for being very flexible, extremely pleasant, and has only called in one day from work to babysit her grandchildren in a neighboring province. Her flexibility and desire to help impressed Express when she agreed to work for a second client a few days a week in the afternoons. Her always positive and kind personality makes her a stellar ambassador for Express.

Josef Mazuran, Auditing Analyst
East Central Zone Employee of the Year
Windsor, ON

Josef has incredible software skills, scoring 100% in all Microsoft Excel tests given by Express Employment Professionals. He is respectful, intelligent, professional and incredibly determined. He has always been eager to learn and absorb new information. When applying to Express, one of his references stated that in his first month as a sales representative with a previous employer, he had already outperformed a seasoned sales professional.

Since April 2012, Josef has been working for an enterprise group where he has gone from data analysis, to mediating and interacting with large automotive clients and assisting with audits. When Express called the client for a performance check up a few months into Josef's placement, his supervisor said "He's perfect! Thank you so, so much for him." Working with Express, Josef has been able to make himself more marketable and hone his interviewing and presentation skills. Josef possesses all of the skills, abilities, and education to advance quickly and significantly in the business world. We're proud to have someone as talented, enthusiastic, and skilled as Josef.

Frank Smith, Warehouse Driver
Northeast Zone Employee of the Year
Braintree, MA

Frank Smith is truly a man with a servant's heart. When applying with Express Employment Professionals, Frank was pleasant and genuinely serious about finding work. He made it clear that he was a reasonable man looking to work his way up and would do whatever it took to prove his reliability and productivity. Express offered many general labor jobs, and he happily accepted them all. Frank picked up new skills and polished the ones he already had, making him a versatile, well rounded worker.

Since working for Express, Frank has completed more than a half dozen temporary positions and is now working full time on a long term basis at a warehouse. Frank never turned down an opportunity to work unless he absolutely couldn't do the job. He is always honest and gives plenty of notice if he's unable to make an assignment. Frank is a shining example of the way we wish everyone would communicate. He goes out of his way to get in touch with Express, always ensuring no issues or complications. Express appreciates his hard work ethic and dedication to his job.

Phyllis Mayfield, Executive Assistant
South Zone Employee of the Year
Newport News, VA

Phyllis Mayfield came to Express with a broad range of administrative experience and skills, but more impressive was her professional and friendly attitude. Phyllis went through a very unfortunate reduction in force at her previous employer and was willing to accept any role that was offered. She was assigned to a district nonprofit where it became apparent that the position would require supporting many different district leaders and offering some support to the more than 65 branches and more than 3000 members in the district. In addition, Phyllis would have to learn to work with a new boss each year as the leadership changes annually. Within a few weeks, Phyllis embraced her new role and learned how to prioritize her work. She has received praise by the district leaders in all areas of her responsibilities.

In the two years Phyllis has worked there, with the exception of a hospitalization, she has not missed any time from work. Express appreciates Phyllis' commitment to always go above and beyond.
