The top challenges reported by employers across the country continue to be attracting and retaining employees. This positions human resources to be a key player in solving crucial business challenges, but also requires the ability to balance tactical execution with big-picture thinking. As HR professionals grow in their career, what is required of them changes as well. Having a “seat at the table” means thinking and acting at a higher level.
This 20-hour program will equip HR Professionals to be a strategic HR leader within their organization. Participants will understand the unique characteristics of strategic leaders and how they apply to the Human Resources function. Special attention will be given to the development of HR strategy within the context of an organization’s strategic priorities. Participants will explore models and tools that support higher-level strategic HR initiatives such succession planning, culture management, predictive analytics, and organizational design. Participants will leave this training equipped to lead and develop their team to ensure HR demonstrates the strategic capabilities necessary to help drive organizational success.
This 5-session program targets experienced HR leaders or those who will be promoted to a senior HR leadership role in the near future. It is the third program in our core HR series after The HR Professional and The Frontline HR Manager.

This training program will be delivered virtually in 4-hour sessions over 5 weeks. All training is delivered live and includes participant engagement and activities. Participants will also receive a participant guide that is focused on providing practical tools and resources for leading the Human Resources function at a strategic level.
Nathan Leaman is a passionate professional with extensive experience in building systems and tools that support organizational and leadership effectiveness. Nathan brings over 20 years of leadership and HR experience from both business and non-profit organizations.
Nathan has a Bachelor's degree from the Moody Bible Institute, a Master's degree from Liberty University and received his coaching certification from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Nathan spent seven years in full-time church ministry before working for 13 years at the Kohler Co. At Kohler, Nathan moved through various HR roles eventually taking the position of Director- Leadership Development. Nathan also held various executive HR roles for the Grande Cheese Company in Fond du Lac, WI where he was responsible for Organizational Development, Compensation, Benefits Management and HRIS.
Nathan has extensive experience with assessment tools and is certified in multiple personality and 360 degree feedback assessments. His straightforward style, willingness to tackle difficult issues, genuine interest in seeing others grow and ability to coach at all levels makes Nathan a go-to resource for strategic HR support and executive development.
