We are excited to welcome Doug as our new owner here at Express Halifax! He is taking over the reigns from the original owners, Darlene, and Shane, and is committed to maintaining an exceptional atmosphere for the wonderful team here. Our team is laser-focused on efficiently building successful employee/employer relationships that will help our community and economy prosper.

Prior to obtaining the Express Halifax office, Doug managed teams throughout Atlantic Canada in the grocery, convenience, and gas industries. Doug has a strong passion to see the teams he supports to succeed. He has gained experience and knowledge in customer service, human resources management, business development, sales, marketing, and finance.

Doug is originally from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and graduated from the University of PEI with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting. Doug is a passionate leader and entrepreneur who is dedicated to building fruitful partnerships that help connect qualified employees with great employers in order to improve business results for valued clients.

In their free time, Doug, and his wife Sylvette enjoy supporting their two children to achieve their scholastic and sports goals. They also enjoy spending time outdoors, all water-based activities and spending time with family and friends.

Lindsay started with Express in June of 2022 as the Front Office Coordinator and now leads the recruiting for Office Services roles. She is friendly, professional and she strives to help our clients and associates find their ideal pairing. She has a wealth of experience in customer service and client communication where she honed her relationship building skills playing a key role on top performing teams.

Originally from Truro, NS, Lindsay attended St. Thomas University where she studied communications and journalism. Lindsay has a kind, caring personality and really connects with anyone she speaks with.

Josephine started at Express Vancouver in February 2021 as an Employment Specialist on the Light Industrial desk and has now joined Express Halifax to run the Skilled Trades division. As a person, Josephine is friendly, kind, pleasant, and calm. As an employee, she is reliable, loyal, helpful, organized, and success driven. Josephine brings valuable customer service and client management experience to Express, having spent nine years working as a Partnerships Manager for a TV station in London, UK, and three years as an Assistant Manager at Flight Centre in Vancouver.

Josephine personally experienced the loss of employment due to the effects of the pandemic and finds it very rewarding to help job seekers find new meaningful work while also solving our clients' staffing needs by finding them talented workers. 

Josephine is originally from Southampton, UK. After spending ten years living and working in London, she moved to Vancouver for a change of scenery, and proudly became a permanent resident in 2019. In 2022 Josephine drove across the country to Nova Scotia with her husband and son. 

When Josephine isn't working hard to help our job seekers navigate their journey to gain employment, she enjoys skiing, cycling, and traveling to new places worldwide.
