Boasts 4 Million Hours Worked in Single Week

After reporting record sales numbers in the first half of 2017, Express Employment Professionals recently set another record with 4 million hours worked by associates for client companies in one week.

The associates who made the milestone possible were spread out over nearly 800 franchise locations in the United States, Canada and South Africa. The 4 million hours were worked during the week ending Oct. 22, which also produced the highest week for sales in the company's nearly 35-year history.

"When Express was first formed, I dreamed that through building a business with a strong culture of caring, it would shatter records and give people hope through employment," said Bob Funk, Express CEO and Chairman of the Board.

"As we approach our 35th anniversary, recording 4 million hours worked in one week puts us that much closer to putting a million people to work annually. I expect that we will surpass our 2017 projection of putting 530,000 people to work, and that means putting food on the table for that many more families."

11-3-2017-Staffing-Giant-Breaks-Record To put this record in perspective, during the 4 million hours worked, the Express associates could have built two-and-a-half Great Walls of China, nearly 23 pyramids in Egypt, 138 CN Towers in Canada, or 32 Brooklyn Bridges.
And those hours are helping propel Express beyond 2016's sales of $3.05 billion. Year-to-date, Express has surpassed $2.3 billion in sales, an 8% increase with a traditionally busy fourth quarter still to come.

"I'm incredibly proud of how hard everyone at Express works to find the best associates for our clients and pair our associates with reputable businesses," Funk said. "While other staffing companies are posting deficits for the year, our sales numbers have continued to increase for the year, which is a direct reflection on the character of our employees. They see the value in our mission."
