    Accounting Manager

    Charlotte, North Carolina, United States (Hybrid)

    The Accounting Manager  is responsible for the gathering and analyzing of financial data and for reporting the results of financial transactions. The Accounting Manager uses professional concepts and applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues including accounting determinations and overseeing the month-end financial reporting process. This associate works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. The Accounting Manager exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

    Responsibilities:

    • Leads and manages the Senior Accountant and Staff Accountant positions (as applicable)
    • Oversees the month-end financial statement close process including creation of the month-end financial statements, reconciliations, and all manual closing journal entries
    • Prepares analysis and reports in the areas of Monthly Actual Gross Margin Results, Monthly Speculative Gross Margin Results, and Monthly Financial Results including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Budget vs. Actual Analysis
    • Demonstrates high levels of team function with other Leaders
    • Coordinates Accounts Payable and Monthly Accrual Processes as Relates to Month End Close
    • Prepares Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
    • Maintains Department's Month End Close, Reporting, and Reconciliation Checklists
    • Maintains Fixed Asset Ledger and Determination of Depreciation Expense
    • Records Lot HUD Closing Entries
    • Provides Cash Flow Forecasting Data Related to AP Disbursements
    • Prepares Construction Draw Requests for "On Your Lot" Homes
    • Initiates Rebate Billings and maintains spreadsheet and communicates with Supply Chain department on follow up items
    • Prepares financial statements for Land Development companies and reconciles their Balance Sheet accounts. Ensures Land Development AP is processed timely
    • Works with Land team to ensure Land Development budgets are in place and allocations are made and current; leads the semi-monthly land development meeting
    • Works with Banking Partners to secure Land Development draws
    • Performs other duties as needed or required

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
    • Three to five years of relevant accounting experience including financial analysis, general ledger accounting, monthly closing activities, and reasoning skills required
    • Proficiency in Excel and Power Point required
    • Homebuilding experience preferred
    • CPA or CMA preferred
    • Knowledge of Sage Accounting preferred

      The  Sr. Accountant  is responsible for the preparation of balance sheets and financial statements, cash-flow reports, and presentations for our investment partner and the Board of Directors. In addition to day-to-day record keeping and reporting including accounts payable and receivable, they also manage and conduct all internal audits and controls, and tax and reporting functions. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, perform and assist with month-end and quarter end close accounting tasks including preparation of journal entries for multiple entities ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

      Responsibilities:

      • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance.
      • Review of P&L accounts on a continual basis to resolve classification issues, working closely with corporate FP&A to ensure accurate and complete reporting of performance.
      • Ensure that reconciliations, supporting schedules and analysis are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with the monthly closing schedule.
      • Preparation and assistance with month end analytical review of material account fluctuations.
      • Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis based on finance department or business unit requests.
      • Assist with specific projects and initiatives unique to a fast-growing company, such as system implementations/updates and continual business process improvements.
      • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to gather information needed to complete the monthly close process.
      • Provide supervision as needed to Staff Accountant(s) and provide oversight on their accounting related processes as needed.
      • Assist with maintenance of internal control framework and the associated documentation requirements.
      • Assist in preparation for annual audits, including interacting with auditors as needed.
      • Review and file 1099 forms at year end with oversight from Director of Accounting & Tax  

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university; 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience; CPA preferred, but not required.

      Our client is a leading electrical company based in Charlotte and looking for a Manufacturing Cost Accountant  to join their team supporting multiple locations.

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Maintain all parts/production cost level for three locations
      • Data Entry for material receipts, shop floor productions, inventory moves and transfers, finished goods into CRM system.
      • Continuous review of all parts reported being reported and the quantities are correct for month end finished goods production
      • Enter & Receive all products into active inventory, cross checking all pricing and quantities
      • Review the items received against the PO for correct quantity, unit of measure, and bring any differences to the attention of Purchasing and Plant personal
      • Assist Controller with reporting production statistics, usage, scrap rates, labor complement and space utilization at month-end to enter finished good production to match items being invoiced.
      • Any other duties as assigned by Staff Cost Accountant or Controller pertaining to management, cost, or budget analyst

       QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Four or two-year degree in accounting and/or equivalent accounting experience
      • Two + years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required
      • Manufacturing billing of material and routing preferred
      • Advanced proficiency in MS Dynamics and MS Excel 
      • Excellent math and analytical skills
      • Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills
      • Hands on and willing to jump in on other projects as needed
      • Self-motivated
