With backgrounds in both finance and human resources, Steve and Christine Schwartz combine knowledge, experience, and passion to help others find a job as the owners of the Express office in Shelton, CT.

"I was looking to leave Wall Street, and we've always wanted to try something together because we make a great team," Steve said. "We loved the concept of helping people, and ultimately, an Express franchise in Shelton was the right place at the right time." 

Both Steve and Christine grew up in the Northeast, attending college in New York before moving to Connecticut. They raised their three children in Fairfield for the past 23 years. 

Their understanding of the needs of both people looking for a job and businesses ready to hire is what sets them apart from other agencies. 

"I actually have a lot of experience with the end markets we (Express) serve," Steve said. "I know the CEOs and have been to the factories of these various companies from being an investor. I have a strong understanding of how these industries work, but even more importantly, I understand their challenges."

Prior to being a stay at home mom, Christine handled human resources at a corporate law firm and believes both experiences help her as an Express Franchisee. 

"From working in a law firm, I know I am extremely detailed oriented," Christine said. "A mistake can be costly whether at the firm or in business in general. I'm also able to juggle different things at the same time-this is just part of being a mother."

Steve has volunteered as a youth sports coach in Fairfield and is currently an active volunteer EMT for the Echo Hose Ambulance in Shelton. Christine serves as a board member for The Pilot House Special Needs Center, which provides individuals with autism and other special needs the means and support to grow their self-esteem and independence.

Steve and Christine's Express office is part of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce and serves businesses in Shelton, Milford, West Haven, Trumbull, Ansonia, and Woodbridge. They help people with a variety of skill sets and backgrounds with their career search and match them with great local companies.
