Job Title: Shared Financial Services Bookkeeper/Accountant
Location: Tulsa, OK (100% On-Site)
Employment Type: Part-Time, Exempt
Pay Rate: $21.00–$22.00/hour
About the Opportunity
A mission-driven organization is seeking a Shared Financial Services Bookkeeper/Accountant to support its outsourced accounting services program. This role provides fee-for-service financial management to nonprofit clients across Oklahoma.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, self-motivated accounting professional who enjoys working with multiple clients and thrives in a collaborative, small team environment. The individual in this role will manage the bookkeeping needs for up to 12 clients, requiring strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping Functions
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple clients (up to 12)
- Provide accounts payable and accounts receivable support
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and account schedules
- Assist with month-end close, including journal entries
- Prepare financial reports using accounting software
- Participate in client meetings as needed
Accounting Functions
- Analyze financial transactions and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Support general ledger reconciliation and month-end close processes
- Assist with grant reporting and compliance, including government funding
- Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory updates
Administrative & Client Support
- Generate financial reports for leadership and board-level audiences
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism
- Build strong, service-oriented relationships with clients
- Collaborate with internal team members across functions
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and financial consulting support as needed
- Participate in trainings, professional development, and team meetings
- Attend occasional client governance or committee meetings
- Travel within Oklahoma and occasionally out of state, as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Experience with full-cycle bookkeeping and financial reporting
- QuickBooks Online experience strongly preferred
- Previous nonprofit accounting experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and accountability
