Experienced Accountant
Contract Opportunity | Southwest Oklahoma City, OK
Pay Rate: $30–$35/hour | 1–2 Month Contract
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant for a contract opportunity with a well-established organization located in the southwest Oklahoma City metro area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong background in general accounting, auditing, cost allocations, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and supporting documentation.

Maintain and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and proper account classification.

Perform account reconciliations and investigate financial discrepancies.

Manage cost allocations and expense distributions across departments, projects, or business units.

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

Analyze financial data and generate reports for leadership review.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Prepare, review, and process journal entries.

Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation.

Review financial transactions and ensure compliance with GAAP, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Utilize Excel extensively for reporting, tracking, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments as needed.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

3+ years of accounting experience required.

Previous auditing experience required.

Strong experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.

Experience with cost allocations and expense distribution.

Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting functions.

Experience with accounting software and ERP systems preferred.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks.
