OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 13, 2013 — Express Employment Professionals, the nation’s largest privately held staffing firm, today released a report on the average hourly wages for jobs in September 2013. The Accounting field topped the list at $23.05 per hour with positions including accountants, auditors and accounts payable/receivable. Industrial jobs, like welders and machinists, earned $10.68 per hour, still above the federal minimum wage rate of $7.25 per hour.
The data comes from Express franchises across the nation and reflects the average wages of jobs filled by workers taking advantage of Express placement services.
“At Express, we pride ourselves on offering job seekers a range of positions in a range of fields,” said Bob Funk, CEO of Express Employment Professionals, and a former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. “But let’s be honest, not all jobs are created equal when it comes to pay. A savvy job seeker will take advantage of this information and over time, work to land the higher-paying positions.

Many of these jobs are often filled by individuals who have gained some additional education or training to qualify for the roles. On average, individuals employed through Express work 37 hours per week and the average assignment lasts three to four months.
