Torch Burner / Steel Cutter
Pay: $20.00 per hour
We are seeking an experienced Torch Burner / Steel Cutter to join a construction company in the Birmingham area. This position is responsible for cutting and preparing structural steel and other metal materials using industrial cutting equipment.
Responsibilities
-
Operate oxy-fuel cutting torches to cut steel and other metal materials

Cut structural steel, beams, pipes, plates, and other materials as needed
-
Measure and mark materials before cutting

Operate grinders and other hand and power tools
-
Assist with steel removal and construction-related projects
-
Maintain a clean and safe work area
-
Inspect and properly maintain cutting equipment

Follow all company and job-site safety procedures
-
Perform other general labor duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Previous experience using a cutting torch required
-
Experience cutting structural steel or heavy metal preferred
-
Construction, demolition, fabrication, or industrial experience preferred

Ability to read a tape measure accurately

Familiarity with oxy-acetylene torch equipment
-
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions

Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work

Strong attention to safety
Schedule: Full-time
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
