Job Title: Field Service Technician/Installer

Pay Range: $17-$19 per hour
Position Overview:
We are hiring a dependable and tech-savvy Field Service Technician / Installer to provide responsive, high-quality service and installation support for retail technology equipment. This includes POS systems, laser printers, meat scales, network devices, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hardware troubleshooting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while providing exceptional customer support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to service calls promptly and professionally, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation
- Service, install, and maintain POS systems, printers, scales, wireless equipment, and related technology
- Perform setup and prep for new system installations, including software configuration and upgrades
- Troubleshoot and verify proper functionality of all equipment serviced
- Conduct preventative maintenance at customer locations
- Manage shipping and receiving responsibilities in the warehouse
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure a positive service experience
- Adhere to company policies, timelines, and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company with integrity
- Travel within a 200-mile radius (some overnight travel required)
- Responsible for company-issued vehicle, fuel card, test equipment, and tools
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Technical school training or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in IT service or hardware repair (preferred)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (required)
- Experience with electronics or IT hardware (preferred)
- Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- CompTIA A+ Certification (preferred)
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Basic break/fix computer and electronics repair skills
- Ability to troubleshoot, learn quickly, and solve problems
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible schedule including availability for weekends, holidays, and after-hours service
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and driving record review
