Position Overview:
We are looking for a hardworking and skilled Metal Caster to join our foundry team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a metal casting environment or industrial setting, with the ability to handle molten metal safely and produce high-quality cast parts. This role involves preparing molds, pouring metal, and finishing castings, with a strong focus on safety, precision, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare molds and cores for metal casting, ensuring accuracy and proper assembly
- Melt and pour metal into molds following specific procedures and safety protocols
- Monitor furnace temperature and adjust settings as needed
- Remove, clean, and finish castings, including grinding, trimming, and inspecting parts
- Identify defects or imperfections and report issues promptly
- Maintain foundry equipment and tools, performing basic maintenance as needed
- Adhere to safety guidelines, wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean work area
- Assist with other foundry tasks such as sand preparation or pattern maintenance as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous foundry or metal casting experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work in high-temperature environments and lift up to 75 lbs
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
