We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our behavioral medicine team, specializing in providing therapy services for children and adolescents. This is a meaningful opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young individuals and their families.
Position Overview:
The LPC will provide therapeutic support to children and teens struggling with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. You’ll work closely with families, schools, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care in a supportive, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct age-appropriate assessments and clinical evaluations for children and adolescents
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to the developmental and emotional needs of each child
- Provide individual and family counseling to address behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and more
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and comply with ethical and clinical standards
- Participate in care team meetings, supervision, and professional development
- Offer crisis intervention and behavioral management strategies as needed
- Educate families on coping strategies, communication, and parenting techniques
Requirements:
- Active LPC license in the state of Alabama
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical or school-based setting
- Strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and trauma-informed care
- Excellent communication, rapport-building, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to engage both young clients and their families in a therapeutic process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training in play therapy, CBT, DBT, or other child-focused modalities
- Experience with autism spectrum disorders, behavioral disorders, or school-based challenges
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
- Bilingual abilities a plus
