Position Overview:
The Jewelry Repair Technician will be responsible for performing repairs, adjustments, and refinishing work on fine jewelry pieces. This includes ring sizing, stone setting, soldering, polishing, and ensuring that every repaired item meets high quality and aesthetic standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform jewelry repairs including ring sizing, chain and clasp repairs, prong retipping, and stone tightening
- Use laser welding and torch soldering to complete precise metalwork repairs
- Clean, polish, and refinish jewelry pieces to like-new condition
- Inspect and assess customer pieces for necessary repairs or restoration
- Work with gold, silver, platinum, and other precious metals
- Maintain organized repair logs and adhere to production deadlines
- Ensure quality control standards are met on all completed repairs
- Collaborate with sales associates and management to ensure customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- 2+ years of jewelry repair experience, including laser and torch work
- Skilled in working with multiple metals (gold, silver, platinum)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship
- Knowledge of stone setting, polishing, and finishing techniques
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repairs efficiently
- Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor
- Basic knowledge of jewelry tools and safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bench jeweler or goldsmith training or certification
- Experience in a retail or fine jewelry repair environment
- Familiarity with ultrasonic cleaners, polishers, and laser welders
