Job Title: Tractor/Trailer Mechanic – MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE & OWN TOOLS ($18-$25 per hour - based on experience)

Position Overview:
The Tractor/Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing tractor-trailer units, with a focus on HVAC systems, brakes, suspension, electrical components, and general trailer maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain tractor and trailer systems, including HVAC/refrigeration units
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and DOT-compliant repairs
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues efficiently
- Repair or replace brakes, axles, lighting, suspension systems, and air systems
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and detailed service records
- Follow all company and safety procedures at all times
Requirements:
- MUST have 2+ years of experience working on tractor-trailers in a professional setting
- MUST have experience with trailer HVAC or refrigeration systems
- MUST have own tools required for mechanical and HVAC repairs
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems
- Ability to read and understand repair manuals and schematics
- Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in various environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- HVAC or refrigeration certification a plus
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Familiarity with diagnostic software or fleet management systems
