Job Title: Certified Welder Fitter/Supervisor ($17-$22 per hour)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Welder Fitter with proven supervisory experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong technical welding and fitting skills who can effectively oversee crews, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain a safe, productive worksite. This position plays a key role in planning, executing, and managing fabrication and installation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Welding & Fitting
- Perform structural, pipe, or fabrication welding using processes such as MIG, TIG, and Stick (as applicable)
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols
- Lay out, fit, and assemble components prior to welding
- Ensure welds meet company standards, codes, and specifications
Supervisory & Leadership
- Supervise and lead a team of welders and fitters
- Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure deadlines are met
- Train and mentor junior welders and fitters
- Enforce quality control and job-site safety standards
- Coordinate with project managers and inspectors to resolve issues
Safety & Quality
- Promote and enforce OSHA and company safety policies
- Conduct job briefings and toolbox talks
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe condition
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certified Welder (AWS or equivalent certification required)
- Minimum 5+ years experience as a welder fitter
- 2+ years supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of welding codes and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage crews effectively
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, climb, kneel, and work in varying conditions
- Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and at heights
