Job Full Description
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Driver to haul topsoil, aggregates, and heavy equipment to and from job sites. This role involves operating dump trucks, flatbeds, and lowboys as needed. The ideal candidate has experience in construction or landscaping material transport and is comfortable with securing loads and following DOT regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Haul topsoil, gravel, and other materials to and from job sites

Transport heavy construction equipment using flatbeds or lowboy trailers

Safely load, secure, and unload equipment and materials

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and trailer
-
Maintain accurate logs and delivery records

Follow all safety and DOT regulations

Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors
-
Perform minor vehicle maintenance as needed
Requirements:

Valid CDL A or CDL B (restricted acceptable)

Clean driving record
-
Experience hauling materials or heavy equipment preferred
-
Ability to operate and maneuver various types of trailers

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions

Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA safety regulations

Environment:

Outdoor & Field-Based Work:
This role is primarily outdoors, involving driving to and from construction sites, excavation areas, and material yards. Drivers are exposed to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, dust, and mud.

Physically Active:
While much of the time is spent driving, the job also requires physical tasks such as climbing in and out of trucks, securing loads, assisting with equipment loading/unloading, and performing vehicle inspections.

Construction & Industrial Settings:
Work is often performed in active construction zones, roadwork areas, or undeveloped land. Safety awareness and adherence to site protocols are critical.

Independent Work with Team Communication:
Drivers typically work independently on the road but must maintain communication with dispatchers, site supervisors, and other team members for scheduling, delivery coordination, and updates.

Variable Hours:
Start times may be early (before sunrise) depending on job site needs. Overtime or long shifts may be required during peak seasons or tight project timelines.

Noise & Equipment Exposure:
Expect exposure to loud machinery, heavy equipment, and vehicle noise. Proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required when outside the vehicle at job sites.
