Job Full Description

The General Laborer/Carpenter plays a key role in supporting restoration and reconstruction projects following property damage from water, fire, mold, or storms. This hybrid position involves physical labor, light demolition, framing, drywall, finish carpentry, and assisting skilled tradespeople on job sites. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, basic carpentry skills, and is able to work efficiently in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform demolition and cleanup work on restoration job sites

  • Assist with framing, drywall, trim, flooring, and other carpentry tasks

  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively

  • Assist in installation of windows, doors, cabinets, and other finish work

  • Measure, cut, and prepare materials for repairs and reconstruction

  • Load, unload, and organize tools and materials

  • Ensure a clean and safe job site at all times

  • Communicate job progress and any issues to supervisors

  • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the lead carpenter or project manager

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding work

    • Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, crawlspaces, and in dusty or wet environments

  • Carpentry Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of framing, drywall installation, taping, and finishing

    • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely

    • Ability to read a tape measure and make accurate cuts

  • Work Ethic & Reliability:

    • Punctual, dependable, and able to follow directions

    • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call when needed

    • Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship

  • Teamwork & Communication:

    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

    • Good communication skills and a professional attitude

    • Respectful interaction with clients, coworkers, and supervisors

  • Experience & Licensing:

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

    • 1–3 years of general labor or carpentry experience preferred

    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred

    • IICRC certification or restoration experience a plus, but not required
