🚗 Mechanic Job Description
A Mechanic is a skilled technician responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and machinery. They ensure that mechanical systems operate safely and efficiently, often working in automotive repair shops, dealerships, fleet maintenance facilities, or industrial settings.
🔧 Key Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and manual inspection

Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, and tire rotations

Repair or replace faulty components including engines, transmissions, and suspension systems

Conduct safety inspections and ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards

Communicate with clients to explain issues and recommend solutions

Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service timelines

Order necessary parts and manage inventory

Stay current with evolving automotive technologies and repair techniques
🎓 Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma or equivalent (vocational training or ASE certification preferred)

Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and mechanical components

Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools

Good manual dexterity and physical stamina

Ability to read technical manuals and schematics

Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills

Valid driver’s license; CDL may be required for heavy equipment roles
💼 Work Environment

Typically based in garages, repair shops, or field service locations
