Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and physicians. The LPN is responsible for monitoring patients’ health, administering basic nursing care, maintaining medical records, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide basic nursing care to patients, including taking vital signs, monitoring health status, and reporting changes to supervising staff.

Administer medications and injections as prescribed by physicians.

Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.

Collect samples for lab tests and perform routine tests such as blood pressure, glucose, and urinalysis.

Document patient care, treatments, and progress in medical records.

Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Support physicians and RNs in medical procedures and patient care plans.

Educate patients and families about proper health practices and care routines.

Ensure a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patients.

Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies.
Qualifications:

Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; CPR certification required.

Strong communication, observation, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team and provide compassionate patient care.
Work Environment:

Hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, physician offices, and home healthcare settings.

May require standing, lifting, and assisting patients with mobility.

Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on facility needs.
