Security Systems Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
Department: Security & Technical Services
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Security Systems Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic security systems at residential and commercial locations.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, test, and maintain security systems.
- Install and service cameras, access-control systems, alarms, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, wiring, network, and equipment issues.
- Run and terminate low-voltage cable.
- Read wiring diagrams, floor plans, and technical documentation.
- Perform system inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Train customers on basic system operation when needed.
- Complete service reports and document work performed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
- Follow all safety procedures and applicable codes.
Qualifications
- Previous security, low-voltage, electrical, or telecommunications experience preferred.
- Knowledge of alarm, surveillance, access-control, and low-voltage systems.
- Basic computer and networking skills.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and travel to customer locations.
- Security licensing or certification preferred where required.
