Trailer Mechanic
Job Type: Full-Time
Department: Fleet Maintenance
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Trailer Mechanic to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial trailers and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect trailers to identify mechanical and safety issues.
- Repair and maintain trailer brakes, suspension, axles, wheels, and lighting systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and air systems.
- Repair doors, floors, landing gear, and other trailer components.
- Replace worn or damaged parts and components.
- Perform welding and fabrication repairs when needed.
- Complete maintenance records and service documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and DOT requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous trailer, diesel, fleet, or heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial trailer systems and components.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
