Job Full Description
A Diesel Service Technician inspects, maintains, and repairs commercial trucks and engines. The role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and mechanical experience working on Class 7 and 8 vehicles in a dealership or commercial truck shop.
Main Job Duties
- Find and fix truck problems by reading work orders and testing vehicles.
- Perform general and deep repairs on diesel engines, parts, and systems.
- Do routine service like cleaning, visual checks, and part changes.
- Write reports on work done and save tagged parts for warranty claims.
- Keep a safe and clean work space and follow safety rules.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 to 5+ years of experience with Class 7 and 8 trucks (depending on the exact job level).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- CDL and medical card are strongly preferred.
- Brand or ASE certifications (like Cummins, Peterbilt, or International) are a plus.
