Job Full Description
Job Summary
The General Laborer at a fertilizer terminal supports daily operations involving the loading, unloading, storage, and handling of bulk fertilizer products. This position assists with maintaining a safe, clean work environment while operating equipment and performing manual labor in an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities

Load and unload bulk fertilizer from trucks, railcars, and barges

Operate conveyors, augers, pumps, and other material-handling equipment

Assist with blending and transferring fertilizer products

Perform general housekeeping duties including sweeping, shoveling, and cleanup of spilled materials

Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs or safety concerns

Assist with bagging, stacking, and palletizing fertilizer products
-
Direct truck traffic and assist drivers with positioning for loading/unloading
-
Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations

Use hand tools and power tools as needed

Support maintenance crews during repairs and shutdowns
Required Skills & Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED preferred
-
Previous experience in industrial, agricultural, terminal, or warehouse environment preferred

Ability to operate forklifts, skid steers, or front-end loaders (preferred but not required)

Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus

Ability to work in dusty environments and varying weather conditions

Strong work ethic and dependability

Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly

Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts during peak seasons
