Job Full Description
A great company in the Atkins area is hiring a Mold Setter Technician to join their team! This is a full-time position!
Position Summary:
Performs a combination of tasks including but not limited to operating, overseeing, and ensuring production of orders on schedule to run on a daily basis, reviewing production orders, and making sure each machine is running according to production schedule daily. Must review and understand the order to be produced daily. (Safety, quality, material, and order specifications for product to be run), ensures orders are processed accurately and timely.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set up of mold for daily production run.
- Ensure molds are properly set up in a timely fashion.
- Diagnose production problems and make proper adjustments. Follow-up to ensure that desired results are obtained.
- Document cycles, water diagrams and any changes that are made to the original set up sheets.
- Maintain communications with the corresponding team to press status so the teams can plan for startup and shut down.
- Communicate any repair or malfunction of equipment or tooling to the proper support department.
- Substitute as a backup molder.
- The operation of injection molding machines and support equipment.
- Quality checks, machine monitoring, data collection and general cleaning.
- Set/start up production jobs while using current process procedures and databases for documenting and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate molding processes to update and improve quality while maintaining safety and productivity.
- Perform preventative maintenance on molding machines and other equipment.
- Lead/supervision of 4-6 people.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience setting up/starting up injection molding machines.
- Knowledge of electric and hydraulic mold machines, hot runner tooling, and associated machinery.
- Self-motivated with good computer skills, quality control experience, able to read blueprints, and possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Versatility, flexibility, and the willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Strong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Must have the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Possess the ability to communicate, lead, motivate, participate, and train team members, to promote growth in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to use the metric system, common measuring tools, and personal computers.
- Sit, stand or walk for long periods, lift and move up to 50 pounds, as needed.
- Must pass all pre-employment screenings.
- Good manufacturing practices experience.
- High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of injection molding experience required.
