Job Full Description

A local industrial company is seeking a Material Handler! This position is ideal for someone with warehouse or receiving experience who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role has the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.

Job Duties:

• Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks; ensure that equipment is in working order; and oversee yard cleanliness
• Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment
• Inspect shipments for damage or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notify supervisor and/or purchasing personnel
• May be cross trained in other job functions based on capacity requirements
• Must be able to effectively communicate with a team environment
• Ability to take oral and written instructions and complete tasks within the defined labor standards
• Must adhere to all internal operating procedures and safety policies
• Maintain acceptable housekeeping practices in designated work area

Requirements:

• Previous warehouse or receiving experience preferred

• Ability to assemble pallets and prepare shipments

• Basic computer skills required

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift

• Strong attention to detail and reliability

• Must pass all pre-employment screenings
