Job Full Description

Express Employment is hiring for a Human Resource Generalist. The Human Resource Generalist will provide comprehensive support across all areas of human resources at the plant, including recruitment, policy interpretation, data reporting, employee and labor relations, benefits administration, hourly compensation, and timekeeping.

Pay Range: $52,500.00 - $87,465.00

Work Schedule:
Standard Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts; flexibility required for occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

Job Description:

Employee Relations
•    Serve as the primary liaison for employee relations matters, working closely with plant management to resolve issues promptly and appropriately.
•    Oversee the creation and distribution of regular and ad hoc HR reports.
•    Administer and support consistent application of company policies and procedures.
•    Lead internal investigations stemming from employee concerns or complaints.
•    Assist employees and supervisors in resolving workplace issues by evaluating situations and recommending appropriate actions, including training or coaching.

Staffing & Recruitment
•    Source talent through approved recruiters, advertisements, and job boards.
•    Manage internal job postings to ensure timely and visible announcements of open positions.
•    Review internal applications and partner with hiring managers to support effective placement.
•    Participate in interviews and selection processes, advising managers on best practices and candidate fit.
•    Maintain applicant tracking system and ensure appropriate follow-up communication with candidates.
•    Manage the hourly hiring process including offers, background checks, drug screenings, and reference checks.
•    Conduct new hire orientation to promote a positive introduction to the organization.

Employee Records & HRIS
•    Administer the offboarding process including completion of termination documentation.
•    Process employee status changes (e.g., promotions, transfers, terminations, leaves) and ensure data integrity in the HRIS.

Timekeeping & Payroll
•    Administer weekly payroll; assist supervisors in timekeeping approvals and corrections.
•    Conduct final audits on timecards and reports prior to corporate payroll submission.
•    Identify and report timekeeping discrepancies or policy violations.

Compliance & Audits
•    Monitor labor law postings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
•    Maintain EEO/Affirmative Action documentation and assist with compliance reporting.
•    Conduct routine HR audits and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
•    Oversee the site’s EEO/Affirmative Action programs and recordkeeping.
Internal Communications
•    Coordinate the distribution of internal corporate communications, including bulletin board postings and company-wide announcements.

•    Proven communication skills—both written and verbal.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.

•    Demonstrated self-direction and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
•    Experience in conflict resolution, coaching, and compliance.

Education
•    Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent HR or relevant experience considered.
