Human Resources (HR) Associate
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional, organized, and people-focused Human Resources Associate to join our team. The HR Associate will support a variety of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, recordkeeping, compliance, and general HR support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, maintains confidentiality, and is committed to fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist with recruiting activities, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
- Prepare employment-related documents and maintain personnel files.
- Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Help promote a positive and engaging workplace culture.
- Assist with employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
- Support conflict resolution and employee relations matters as directed.
Benefits & Administration
- Assist with benefits enrollment, employee changes, and benefits-related inquiries.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
- Process employment status changes, terminations, and leave requests.
- Assist with payroll coordination and timekeeping administration when required.
Compliance & HR Support
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Support HR audits and recordkeeping requirements.
- Assist with maintaining employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
- Generate HR reports and maintain confidential personnel information.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of human resources, administrative, office support, or related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of HR principles, employment practices, and labor regulations is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, or applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Customer service-oriented approach to employee support.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) is a plus.
