Maintenance Technician Assistant
6:00am - 2:30pm / Monday- Friday
(Possible OT and Saturdays)
$20.00 per hour
A company in Santa Fe Springs is looking for a motivated Maintenance Technician Assistant to join the team. This role supports the Maintenance Technicians in ensuring machinery and mechanical equipment function optimally. The ideal candidate will assist in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of various industrial equipment, all while following safety protocols. Maintenance Technician Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist Maintenance Technicians in performing preventative maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues by observing equipment in operation and using precision testing instruments.
- Help in the dismantling of defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand tools; evaluate parts for wear and damage.
- Perform general duties, including cleaning, painting, trash disposal, and maintaining a tidy work environment.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines in all tasks.
Maintenance Technician Assistant Qualifications:
- At least 1+ years of experience maintaining industrial equipment, preferably in a metals service center or similar industry.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of job related experience.
- Prior industrial maintenance experience is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand English, including blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
