Inspector I

$23.00 - $28.00 per hour, DOE

3:00 pm – 11:30 pm / Monday-Friday

 

A leading aerospace manufacturing company is looking for a skilled and dependable Inspector I to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting materials, parts, and finished products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure they meet stringent aerospace industry standards. Inspector I Responsibilities:

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of aerospace components, assemblies, and materials.
  • Execute AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI) and document results per customer and internal specifications.
  • Develop and follow inspection plans; document all inspections according to company procedures.
  • Ensure quality standards are met prior to final acceptance, identifying and rejecting nonconforming parts.
  • Maintain accurate records, including part history folders, inspection reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and document inspection tools and equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections, hardness testing, and electrical conductivity testing.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics to assess conformance using precision measuring tools.
  • Use tools such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, profilometers, thickness gauges, etc.
  • Follow safety procedures and support departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Inspector I Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Final or Receiving Inspector in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Certification in Mechanical Inspection required; certifications in CMM, Hardness, and EC testing preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, aerospace standards, and quality codes.
  • Skilled in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical comparators, etc.
  • Familiar with Six Sigma principles (preferred).
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings with precision.
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and inspection/QA systems.
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working across shifts and overtime as needed.
