Baler
SCHEDULE: Must be available for all 3 shifts.
7am-3pm | 3pm-11pm | 11pm-7am
Monday-Friday & Saturdays OT
$22.84 per hour
A leading global flexible packaging manufacturer seeking a dependable and safety-focused Baler Operator. This role is responsible for baling, palletizing, and preparing finished product according to print requisitions, customer specifications, and safety requirements. Must be flexible to work day, swing, and graveyard shifts, including weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime. Baler Responsibilities:
- Follow print requisitions to stack 10–50 lb bundles onto pallets
- Bale product from up to 5 machine lines per shift
- Utilize vacuum lift equipment to move heavier bales from the discharge conveyor to pallets in accordance with Vacuum Lift Requirements
- Wrap bundles using Kraft paper, tape, and strapping machines
- Tape all open bales and ensure the correct pallet is used per order
- Ensure all bales meet customer requirements including UPC code, item number, bag count, and customer name when required
- Verify bale print is dark, clear, and readable
- Notify operator or supervisor of any product that does not meet manufacturing specifications
- Clear machine lines and palletize bales
- Perform general housekeeping duties and clean spills immediately
- Occasional use of manual pallet jack
- Sort and lift pallets as required
Baler Requirements:
- Must be available to work day, swing, and graveyard shifts
- Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime
- Ability to lift and handle 10–50 lb bundles
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to safely use vacuum lift equipment and pallet jacks
- Wear required PPE, including hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes
- Follow all safety rules and house policies
- Use proper lifting techniques (bend knees, keep back straight)
- Report safety concerns, injuries, or cuts immediately to management
