CNC Setup Technician
Location: Los Alamitos, CA
Hours: Mon-Fri 7 am-3:30pm
Payrate $25+/hr DOE
We are urgently looking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Setup Technician to support our machining operations. This role is critical to ensuring that CNC mills and lathes are properly configured for production runs, with a focus on precision, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up CNC mills and lathes according to job specifications and engineering drawings
- Install and align tooling, fixtures, and workpieces for optimal machining performance
- Load and verify CNC programs; perform dry runs and first-article inspections
- Adjust machine parameters and offsets to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish
- Collaborate with CNC programmers and machinists to troubleshoot setup issues
- Maintain setup documentation, tooling lists, and machine logs
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report equipment issues
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and aerospace quality standards
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- 3+ years of experience in CNC machine setup (mill and lathe)
- Familiarity with aerospace materials such as titanium, aluminum, and composites
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and setup sheets
- Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing, and machine operation
- Experience with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
