Express Employment Professionals of Long Beach are currently seeking a Skid Maker / Packer for an entry level Warehouse position for a great local company.
POSITION – Skid Maker / Packager (Warehouse)
LOCATION: Carson
RATE: $20/hr.
HOURS: Mon-Fri 6AM-2:30PM (Available for 2:30pm-11pm if need)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assemble, disassemble and repair pallets using tools (saws, nail guns, tape measure & hammers)
- Inspect, verify and record critical dimensions as required by Job Order
- Detect and report defective material, improper operation, and unusual conditions
- Band and package material per special instructions or standard shop practice
- Remove any defect before packaging
- Obtain, move, and sort materials using hand tools, conveyor, coil car and forklift
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow prescribed safety regulations and practices
Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have Steel Toed Boots - other personal protective equipment will be provided
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- English required, Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to use and read micrometers, tape measure and standard tools for machine adjustments, packaging and pallet assembly. Forklift vehicle certified is a plus.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Moving mechanical parts / vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
