About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled CNC Operator with programming experience to support a guitar manufacturing shop. This person will handle CNC setup, programming, and production work with a strong focus on accuracy and quality. Experience operating a Haas 4th‑axis mill is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines, including a Haas mill with 4th‑axis capability
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs (preferably in Fusion 360, Mastercam, or similar CAM software)
- Load raw materials, secure fixtures, and verify machine alignment
- Perform test runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure precision and repeatability
- Inspect finished guitar components for accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
- Maintain records of production runs, tooling changes, and machine performance
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to maintain quality standards
- Follow all safety procedures and keep the work area organized
Qualifications
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience
- Strong programming background (G-code familiarity required)
- Hands-on experience with Haas mills, including 4th‑axis operation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents
- Experience working with woods, plastics, or metals commonly used in instrument manufacturing (a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high‑precision components
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
Nice to Have
- Experience in guitar or musical instrument production
- Knowledge of fixture setup for irregular or delicate components
- Understanding of woodworking principles
