Job Full Description
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler & Tester to support the production of mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies ranging from simple to highly complex. The role is critical in ensuring quality and precision for components used in commercial aerospace and defense applications.
This position reports to the Production Supervisor/Manager and operates within a specialized production area.
Essential Responsibilities

Assemble and test mechanical assemblies in compliance with engineering documentation and quality standards.

Organize and compile test reports, perform lockwire/safety wire procedures, and affix nameplates.

Conduct visual inspections to identify defects and process them per established procedures.

Utilize a variety of hand tools and precision instruments, including calipers, micrometers, soldering irons, pressure gauges, multimeters, etc.

Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and testing schematics with a high degree of proficiency.

Prepare materials and lap surfaces using proper tooling and compounds.

Collaborate across teams and participate in cross-training and process improvement initiatives.

Perform acceptance testing on repaired, modified, or newly built units.

Identify when Engineering Change Orders (ECO) are required and work with engineers to implement new procedures.

Represent the department during customer audits or visits.

Ensure all test equipment is calibrated and operational.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment.

Willingness to be reassigned temporarily within production based on workload.
Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Minimum 4 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or military environment.

Minimum 4 years of hands-on testing with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical assemblies.

Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Asylee, or Refugee).

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Must reside within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA – relocation assistance is not available.
Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of direct aerospace manufacturing experience.

Associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field.

Familiarity with equipment such as XY plotters, oscilloscopes, and pressure transducers.
Physical Requirements
-
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and squatting.
-
Reaching and pulling tasks throughout the shift.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (group lifts required for anything over 35 lbs).

Must be able to safely perform tasks using hands, arms, and tools for extended periods.
