We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist to join a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This position requires the ability to set up and operate machinery with minimal supervision while maintaining precision and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in machining, honing, or lapping, as well as an eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Independently set up and operate machines for complex part production.

  • Interpret work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings, with a complete understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools, such as micrometers, calipers, air gauges, and comparators.

  • Machine and finish components from various materials to tight tolerances without supervision.

  • Examine workpiece surfaces for defects prior to machining.

  • Meet daily production goals and quality requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • Modify machine speeds, feeds, and select appropriate tooling based on material type.

  • Perform tool changes, inspect finished parts, and adjust offsets as needed.

  • Actively participate in maintaining a safe work environment and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with team members and support cross-functional process improvements.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in machining, honing, or lapping in a manufacturing environment.

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds frequently.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, Green Card Holder, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of precision machining experience in aerospace or defense industries.

  • Proven involvement in process optimization, definition, or re-engineering efforts.

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary team environments.

  • Proficiency with computer-based tools and shop floor interfaces.

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, Six Sigma practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
