About the Role:
We are seeking a Licensed Medical Assistant (LMA) to join our cardiology practice. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, compassionate, and experienced in providing clinical support in a fast-paced medical environment. You’ll play a key role in supporting our providers and ensuring a smooth, efficient patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare exam rooms and assist cardiologists during patient visits
- Take and record vital signs, EKGs, and patient histories
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician
- Assist with stress tests, Holter monitors, and other cardiology-specific procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the EHR system
- Coordinate patient follow-ups, referrals, and prior authorizations
- Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready for use
- Provide patient education and answer basic clinical questions
Requirements:
- Current Medical Assistant license or certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a cardiology or specialty medical office preferred
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- CPR certification preferred
