Job Full Description
A local North Los Angeles company is looking for a machine operators and production associates, whose responsibilities would setup and cleanup of machines and to ensure the product feeding properly through the machine with jamming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receive daily instructions from supervisor.
- Basic knowledge and use of a micrometer for material size and verification.
- Make necessary spooling setups with correct AWG and length selection.
- Confirm all material to its specification.
- Visual self-inspection of multicolored wire to determine that wire diameter, stranding, and color of insulation conform to the requirements.
- To spool wire at constant tension and with an even wind.
- Spark test lengths at correct voltage using spark tester, in accordance with wire requisition.
- Verify multiples to confirm with wire requisition and work order.
- Prepare completed reels for the Inspection department.
- Must keep work station clean. *Good Housekeeping*
- Manually load and unload spools from the spooling machine.
- Manual lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling required, see physical demand section.
- Will also be cross-trained in other departments within Dyna, such as Braiding, Cable Machine and Twinning with the required training unique to those departments as business need requires.
- Regular attendance, able to work flexible hours, for example different shifts and/or including overtime as stated in the Employee Handbook.
- Basic understanding of English (read & write) for comprehension of duties & responsibilities listed.
- Ability to understand work order forms..
Requirements
- One or more years of production or machining experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be able to read and comprehend written and oral instructions including safety rules, operating procedures, batch recipes and material identification.
- Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide as well as making the necessary conversions.
- Able to handle up to 50 lbs.
- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Must have basic computer skills
- Displays good troubleshooting skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- At times a hot dusty environment.
- Must be able to pick up 50 lbs.
- 95% of the day you will be on your feet.
