Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Human Resources Manager to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing all HR functions at the plant level, partnering closely with leadership to support a safe, compliant, and high-performing workforce. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of labor laws, employee relations, and manufacturing environments, with the ability to balance strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for plant leadership and employees

  • Oversee full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and retention for hourly and salaried employees

  • Manage employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and manufacturing labor regulations

  • Administer compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee development programs

  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives

  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems, and reporting

  • Lead training initiatives related to safety, compliance, performance, and leadership development

  • Collaborate with operations to support productivity, attendance, and workforce engagement

  • Manage HR metrics and prepare reports for leadership review

  • Support union interactions, if applicable

  • Assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices

  • Experience supporting hourly workforce and production environments

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all employee levels

  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and partner with leadership

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems

  • High integrity, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement
