Summary:
The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for leading the packaging team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. This role includes planning schedules, assigning tasks, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Planning

Lead and manage packaging team members: set clear expectations, coach, and support their growth.

Create daily packaging plans and assign tasks to meet production goals.

Monitor progress, solve problems, and adjust priorities as needed.
Food Safety & Compliance
-
Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and employee safety policies.
-
Maintain a clean and safe work area following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety regulations (HARPC, SQF, etc.).

Respond to equipment issues and request timely maintenance or repairs.
Process Oversight & Improvement
-
Monitor packaging processes, equipment, and team performance.
-
Track production data and use it to improve efficiency and quality.

Perform root cause analysis to resolve issues and reduce downtime.

Recommend changes to improve processes, product quality, or equipment performance.
Employee Management
-
Support hiring, evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
-
Motivate employees and encourage teamwork.
-
Provide training on SOPs, best practices, and company policies.
Additional Responsibilities:

Step in for the Packaging Manager or team leads when needed.

Promote a strong food safety culture and take action to reduce risks.

Follow up on corrective actions for quality or safety issues.

Be flexible with work hours based on production needs.

Required:

Strong communication and leadership skills.

Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Experience motivating and managing a team.

Basic computer skills.

High school diploma or GED.
-
At least 6 months of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred:
-
2–4 years of college in a technical field or equivalent experience.

2+ years working in a food manufacturing facility.
-
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
-
Familiar with LEAN manufacturing and quality systems.
Work Schedule:
-
Full-time, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week.
-
Must be on time and present for each shift.
-
Weekend, evening, or holiday shifts may be required depending on production needs.

Time off must follow company policy.
