Shop Assistant
$20.00 per hour
6:00 AM - 2:30 PM / Monday–Friday
A pipeline maintenance company is seeking a mechanically inclined Shop Assistant to support daily shop operations. This role focuses on shop cleanup, shipping and receiving, equipment handling, and general shop support in an industrial environment. Plumbing-related experience or familiarity with basic plumbing terminology is a plus. You are applying through Express Employment Professionals, an award-winning Staffing Firm.
Shop Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assist with shop cleanup and organization to maintain a safe work environment
- Operate sit-down forklifts and small cranes to move heavy equipment and supplies
- Use power tools to assist with equipment setup
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties
- Provide general shop support
Shop Assistant Requirements:
- Mechanically inclined with hands-on skills
- Basic plumbing knowledge or hands-on experience preferred (including rough-in, layout, finish work, soldering, or brazing)
- Comfortable using sit-down forklifts, cranes, and basic power tools
- Familiarity with gas, water, and sewer systems is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus
- Ability to follow safety protocols
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check
