About the Position: A growing environmental inspection and consulting firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Technician to join their Northern California team. This role involves conducting field surveys for hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, mold, etc.), operating technical equipment, collecting samples, and preparing reports. The position also includes opportunities for supporting lab operations, GIS tasks, and other special projects depending on experience and interest.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a team-oriented mindset. This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, field-based environment.

 

Job Description/ Responsibilities:
•    Set up, operate, and maintain environmental sampling equipment
•    Assist certified consultants with site inspections and field investigations
•    Collect air, material, and surface samples for laboratory analysis
•    Accurately document site activities and maintain chain-of-custody procedures
•    Perform basic lab functions and prepare samples for review
•    Draft reports and communicate findings to internal teams and clients
•    Comply with company safety protocols and regulatory guidelines
•    Support job scheduling, equipment transport, and other project logistics
•    Participate in general office duties, research, or support tasks as needed

Minimum Requirements:
•    Associate degree in Environmental Science or 2+ years of experience in construction, restoration, consulting, or inspections
•    Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, clean driving record
•    Willingness to travel and work overtime when required
•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
•    Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 30 lbs, and wear required PPE (e.g., Tyvek suits, respirators)
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
•    Familiarity with building systems and safe work practices

 

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
•    Experience with hazardous materials (asbestos, lead, mold, radon)
•    Environmental certifications (CAC, CSST, CDPH Lead Inspector/Assessor, Asbestos Building Inspector, etc.)
•    Experience conducting mold inspections or indoor air quality assessments
•    Map drafting or GIS skills
•    Strong technical writing, computer literacy, and regulatory knowledge
•    Experience managing client relationships or growing a team

 

Shift: Full-Time, Overtime as needed.
