Job Title: Environmental Scientist
Location: Anderson, CA
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Pay: $22.00–$26.00 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week, occasional overtime
Position Overview
A growing Northern California-based environmental consulting firm is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Environmental Scientist to join their team. This role involves hands-on fieldwork, data collection, technical report writing, and project coordination related to hazardous materials and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct hazardous materials surveys (asbestos, lead, mold, etc.)

Operate and maintain field sampling equipment

Collect environmental samples and maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation

Support certified consultants on site investigations

Assist with scheduling, data entry, and administrative reporting tasks

Write detailed technical reports and communicate findings to clients

Research regulatory standards and assist with proposal preparation
-
Follow strict safety protocols and applicable regulatory standards

Support internal projects, basic lab operations, and gear organization

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field (may consider experience in lieu of degree)

Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to earn credentials
-
Ability to work in the field, travel as needed, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Basic understanding of building systems and field documentation

Ability to wear PPE, climb ladders, and perform physical fieldwork
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in environmental consulting or hazmat inspections

Industry certifications (CSST, CAC, CDPH Lead Inspector/Assessor, etc.)

Experience in mold investigations or home inspections
-
GIS or mapping software experience
-
Familiarity with regulatory compliance and reporting

Strong technical writing and client communication skills
Sample Day-to-Day Activities

Conduct field inspections and environmental sampling

Use air sampling and microscopy equipment

Travel to project sites and complete required reporting

Prepare written reports and interact with clients

Participate in internal training, planning, and proposal development
