Position Summary
The Payroll / HR Assistant supports day-to-day human resources and payroll operations with a strong emphasis on payroll processing using ADP. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll administration, maintaining employee records, assisting with onboarding, and supporting compliance-related HR tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll (Primary Focus)

Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll using ADP accurately and on time

Maintain employee payroll records, timekeeping, and attendance data

Assist with payroll audits, corrections, and reconciliations

Process garnishments, child support orders, and wage attachments

Support payroll tax filings and respond to payroll-related inquiries
Human Resources Support

Assist with new hire onboarding, including documentation and system entry

Maintain employee personnel files and ensure confidentiality

Support benefits administration and employee changes

Complete and submit HR-related forms including EDD, employment verifications, and compliance documents

Assist with employee terminations and offboarding procedures
Administrative & Operational Support

Provide general HR administrative support to management

Communicate with employees regarding payroll and HR questions

Coordinate with staffing agencies when applicable

Support HR projects and process improvements as assigned
Qualifications
Required
-
1–3 years of payroll and HR support experience
-
Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems (required)

Knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour compliance, and basic HR practices

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Preferred

Experience processing payroll for hourly employees in manufacturing or warehouse environments

Familiarity with timekeeping systems

Experience with child support, garnishments, and EDD documentation

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
