Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on leader to run a manufacturing work area. You will oversee a team of operators on one or more shifts. Your main job is to keep the area safe, organized, and running smoothly every day. You’ll make sure work gets done on time, quality standards are met, and everyone follows company rules and procedures.

Preferences

  • Previous production team leader or supervisory experience in a production machine environment (24 months or greater).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety and environmental rules are followed by team members and yourself.
  • Make sure quality standards are met at all times.
  • Manage daily operations of the work center, including:
  • Production scheduling
  • Attendance tracking
  • Goal setting and monitoring
  • Employee training
  • Order fulfillment and cycle counting
  • Assigning equipment based on operator certifications and production needs.
  • Coordinate material flow to keep production running smoothly.
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with Maintenance and Engineering teams as needed.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Monitor production performance and help improve efficiency and processes.
  • Assign and conduct training for team members.
  • Provide feedback for operator performance reviews and support employee development.
  • Track and maintain inventory for supplies and consumables; place orders when needed.
  • Assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote employee growth and teamwork.
  • Be certified and ready to step in and operate equipment when necessary.
  • Operate a forklift or other material-handling equipment as required.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand schedules, work orders, and work instructions.
  • Able to operate machinery and handle materials safely.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing production needs.
  • Basic math skills for checking dimensions, quality measurements, and material usage.
  • Comfortable using a computer (intermediate PC skills required).
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
