Job Full Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Drafter and Shop Liaison to serve as the critical link between our customers and fabrication shop. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of architectural and construction drawings who can effectively translate design intent into practical fabrication requirements. The position is hands-on and collaborative, requiring both technical drafting skills and clear communication across teams.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret architectural and construction drawings to ensure feasibility for fabrication.
- Act as the primary point of communication between clients and the shop, conveying project requirements, constraints, and updates.
- Translate customer needs into clear, actionable instructions for the fabrication team.
- Identify potential design or production issues and proactively recommend solutions.
- Create and modify CAD drawings as needed to support project execution.
- Ensure all drawings and specifications align with shop capabilities, materials, and timelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of revisions, approvals, and project details.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, fabricators, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with architectural and/or construction drawings.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and shop limitations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
