Title: Shopper Assistant
Location: Atherton, CA
Position Type: Full-time Contract (4 to 6 weeks, starting approximately 06/09/2025)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
Salary: $24.00/hour
A local food distribution organization is seeking a reliable and service-oriented Shopper Assistant to support operations during a seasonal influx of partner orders. This temporary role is critical in ensuring efficient service and a safe shopping experience for company partners during a high-volume period.
Responsibilities:
- Maximize customer service and support company success:
- Assist shoppers in finding items
- Enforce safety practices in shopping and warehouse areas
- Provide clear communication and support to clients and staff:
- Guide new shoppers and volunteers
- Share challenges and safety concerns with staff
- Provide coverage for the Shopping Specialist and Coordinator as needed
- Maintain accurate and compliant data practices:
- Process invoices and shopper transactions
- Ensure items are weighed and registered correctly
- Verify proper signage is in place for all items according to category
- Perform additional duties and support projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of related experience
- Strong customer service skills with ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Proficient with computers, including word processing and database use
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds
