Job Full Description
Duties of the Service Technician
- Pulls tire order and load by hand, tires vary in weight from 35 lbs on up.
- Raises vehicle with hydraulic jack, and unbolts wheel with air impact wrench.
- Removes tire assembly from vehicle by hand or, when repairing giant tires of heavy equipment, by use of power hoist.
- Separates tubed or tubeless tire from wheel with rubber mallet or steel hammer or air-operated machine.
- Seals puncture in tubeless tire by inserting adhesive material and expanding rubber plug into puncture. Remove tire and buff inside using air buffer, apply repair cement and replace with repaired part.
- Removes inner tube from tire and inspects tire casing for defects, such as holes and tears.
- Responds to emergency calls to make repairs or replacements of damaged tires at customer's designation or on road.
Requirements
- Valid class "C" driver's license
- Tire knowledge or skills beneficial
- Ability to follow all safety instructions and procedures
