Job Summary

A long-standing Murrieta-based engineering and manufacturing firm is seeking a motivated entry-level candidate to join their precision automation team. With more than 30 years of experience, the company’s work spans a wide range, including engineered solutions for semiconductor back-end assembly, medical device manufacturing, electrical panel assembly, and military/government work, just to name a few. Their portfolio includes advanced material handling systems, automated assembly equipment, test and inspection tools, traceability systems, specialty tooling, and more. They design and build everything in-house, from automated assembly equipment to custom tooling, using CNC machining, electro-mechanical assembly, using ISO-compliant processes.

What makes this opportunity unique is the mentorship. You’ll work directly under a highly skilled Journeyman Machinist who’s looking for an apprentice or Level 1 machinist to train, mentor, and grow. This is a rare chance to gain hands-on education and experience while earning a paycheck.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setting up and operating CNC lathes and milling machines under the guidance of a senior machinist.
  • Help run CNC programs and monitor machine performance.
  • Learn to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges) to check part accuracy.
  • Support routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to keep equipment in top condition.
  • Assist with assembly tasks and tooling changes as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace while following safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Interest in machining and manufacturing with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Curiosity and mechanical aptitude, meaning you enjoy working with your hands and figuring out how things work.
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (training provided).
  • Basic computer skills for entering data and following digital instructions.
  • Solid foundational math skills for measurements and simple calculations.
  • Reliable, motivated, and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
  • Able to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, reaching, twisting, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Nice to Have

  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Forklift operation experience.
