Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chiropractic Office Biller who is fluent in both English and Spanish. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of chiropractic billing, insurance claims, and patient accounts while providing clear communication and support to a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate is highly organized, knowledgeable in chiropractic coding and insurance processes, and comfortable interacting with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate chiropractic insurance claims to commercial carriers, Medicare, Medicaid (if applicable), and personal injury/auto insurance.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copays, and coverage limitations prior to or at the time of service.
- Ensure correct use of CPT, ICD-10, and modifier codes specific to chiropractic services.
- Post insurance payments, patient payments, adjustments, and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) accurately and timely.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid, underpaid, or denied claims.
- Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and discrepancies; submit appeals when necessary.
- Generate and explain patient statements, balances, and payment plans in both English and Spanish.
- Communicate professionally with insurance representatives, attorneys (for PI cases), and billing vendors as needed.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all federal, state, and payer-specific regulations.
- Collaborate closely with chiropractors, front desk staff, and office management to ensure accurate documentation and smooth billing workflows.
- Maintain organized billing records and contribute to financial reporting as requested.
- Assist patients with billing questions in a courteous, empathetic, and culturally sensitive manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in medical billing or healthcare administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in chiropractic or medical billing (chiropractic experience strongly preferred).
- Fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) required.
- Strong knowledge of chiropractic billing procedures, insurance guidelines, and reimbursement processes.
- Proficiency with EHR/EMR and billing software; comfortable using spreadsheets and standard office software.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain billing information clearly to patients.
